We are happy to announce that PHENICX will have an exhibition stand at the ICT2013 in Vilnius on 6-8 November 2013. This is a unique opportunity to showcase PHENICX research and innovative creations to the 4000 expected visitors of the conference.
The PHENICX project focuses on enhancing the experience of classical concert performances with digital technology. In our demo, the audience will be guided past several prototypical technologies and frameworks fitting into this philosophy. As an introduction, a brief overview is given of RCO Editions, a recently released interactive concert e-magazine of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Then, employing live performed musical examples, we showcase several live technologies that can give more insight into a musical performance. First of all, we show live visualizations of tonality and melody lines. Then, we demonstrate live 3D tracking of musicians' gestures, and show how tracking-related information can be shown in synchronization with other information streams. Finally, we interactively demonstrate a system capable of identifying a performed classical piano piece (including the location within the piece) within seconds, after which flexible score-following is possible.
