PHENICX presence at 8th European Music Analysis Conference (EuroMAC)
Agustín Martorell, from the Music Technology Group, Universitat Pompeu Fabra participated at the 8th European Music Analysis Conference (EuroMAC) in Leuven (Belgium), fromSeptember 17th-20th 2014, presenting the paper:
PHENICX presence at MOCO and NIME 2014
On June and July, PHENICX was present in two interesting (and somehow related) events: the International Workshop on Movement and Computing (MOCO) at IRCAM and the 14th International Conference on New Interfaces for Musical Expression (NIME) at Goldsmiths.
PHENICX recording of Beethoven 9th Symphony
The aim of this recording was to gather raw data for PHENICX research tasks, in particular for source separation and conductor’s gesture recognition research tasks in WP3 and WP4. The repertoire has been selected given the metadata availability and the focus on symphonic music material and Beethoven symphonies.

Keynote speech by Gerhard Widmer at AES 53rd Conference on Semantic Audio
Gerhard Widmer gave a keynote talk at the AES 53rd Conference on Semantic Audio in London, UK, titled "Expressivity as a Challenge to Semantic Audio Research".
During the presentation, there was a demo of OFAI's score following system in piano music.
PHENICX proposal for exhibition at ICT2013 accepted!
We are happy to announce that PHENICX will have an exhibition stand at the ICT2013 in Vilnius on 6-8 November 2013. This is a unique opportunity to showcase PHENICX research and innovative creations to the 4000 expected visitors of the conference.
Project meeting in Delft / Amsterdam
All PHENICX partners met last week in Netherlands from Wednesday Set 25th to Set 27th. The objective of this meeting was reviewing the scientific results achieved for the last 6 months and also planning all activities for the upcoming 6 months, when we are reaching the first project milestone. The meeting included scientific presentations and also demos of the several technologies under development. PHENICX partners also attended a rehearsal in Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, which was really inspiring for everyone
PHENICX project at Notes de clàssica (Catalunya Ràdio)
Radio interview (in catalan) about the multimodal recordings carried out jointly by MTG and ESMUC in the frame of the ESMUC Festival last June 21st 2013. Emilia Gómez (MTG-UPF), Enric Guaus (ESMUC), Óscar Mayor (MTG-UPF), Álvaro Sarasúa (ESMUC), Xavier Puig (ESMUC) and Josep Borràs (ESMUC) talk about the PHENICX project in general and the goals behind the recordings at ESMUC.
Enregistrament del projecte Phenicx al concert de l’Orquestra Simfònica
Tomorrow at 19:30 we will be carrying out some recordings and disseminating the project in the context of the ESMUC festival. We will gather multimodal and multitrack recordings and gesture data from the conductor, Mr. George Pelhivanian.
