PHENICX featured on Dutch national television

The PHENICX consortium is happy to have collaborated on a TV episode on 'the science behind conducting' of the Dutch popular science magazine 'De Kennis van Nu'.

In the episode, Álvaro Sarasúa will demonstrate his work on analysis of conductor movements in live experiments with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, and also show an interactive demo in which gestures shape expressive articulation in music. Cynthia Liem will demonstrate how performers (and conductors) have own freedom in shaping their performances, and showcase her work on comparative orchestral performance analysis.

Crowsourced filming festival @ ESMUC

The Phenicx consortium organized a Collaborative Video Festival during the ESMUC Big Band concert that took place last May 26th at the outdoors stage in l'Auditori, in Barcelona. The goal of this experiment was twofold: first, we wanted to evaluate some of the technologies developped in the context of Phenicx, but we also wanted to check these technologies beyond the classical music environment at the same time that we showed the research results to other musical communities (Jazz musicians and enthusiasts)
